Park City Utah Marathon
It wasn't to chilly at 6:30 am. :)
It has long been a goal of mine to run marathon after my mission. I have been home from my mission for 8 years. I've finished my batchlors degree, got married, worked full time for 3 years, built a house with my husband, and gave birth to two children. When Kennedy was about 4 months old I decided I wasn't getting any younger and I better knock this goal off the charts now. So Aug 20th, in Park City Utah, I lined up with many other crazy's, to run 26.2 miles. It was exciting, fun, beautiful, hard, and just wonderful to set a goal and get it done. It took me 4hr 29 min to run 26.2 miles, but many more hours to train for it. I have to give a shout out of thanks to my husband, James, Grandpa Evans, and Grandma and Grandpa Swiss for watching my kids while I trained this summer. Twice during the marathon I saw my aunt Kathy waiting to cheer me on. Her cheers gave me the boost I needed to make it up 2 miles of incline to the highest point of the marathon which completed at mile 16. Park City Utah Marathon is up hill for the first 16 miles changing elevation from 6400 to 7200. and then is mostly down hill for the last 10, but the last 10 miles are no piece of cake. Anyways, lots of fun!! And a good excuse to come to Utah for another week this summer. :)
Yea I finished!
Me with my kids and holding the phone talking to James.
My parents and awesome brother Dallin and his wife Maria, came to cheer me on.
When I arrived for my visit to Utah this past week and my mom threw me a surprise birthday party inviting all my girlfriends from home. It was so fun to see them all again!! I wish we lived closer and could get together so much more.
This is my friend Corina and her husband Stephan. Corina is an awesome marathon runner and has been giving me tips on running. Such a sweety!!
Janalee and Whitney
Whitney, Annika and I along with our youngest girls. Yea, love the girls!!
Jan's husband Jonny and my dad were on Kid wagon duty :)
We spent a couple days at the park with Jan and her boys. Emerson loves playing with them, especially Chase, who is his age. This is a picture of Chace pushing Emerson in the swing.
While I was in Utah I also re-covered my parents porch swing. These are the best before and after pictures I have.
This picture doesn't have the finished armrest which is in the solid green color, but I loved the fabric we got.
Kennedy loved the porch swing! It was a guaranteed no cry zone.
