A Year Later

Last year in June James and I bought property in Orinda Ca. with plans to build a house. We're not done building yet, but we've made significant progress on our house. Here's a quick picture up date on the house. It started out like this.

We graded the land, laid cement, and framed the house. We are now stuccoing and sheet rocking. It's exciting, here are some of the room transformations.

This is the Kitchen/Family Room

The Entry Hall Way

The Living Room

We have one more coat of stucco. Right now we've got the brown coat finished.

And this is me. Emerson was sleeping today so I got to help. It is so cool to see the house really take shape.

Sewing Ambitions

Recently James wore out one of his blue shirts. It had a rip in the sleeve and along the back. Although James couldn't ware the shirt I thought I might experiment and see if I could use the fabric to make Emerson a shirt because all his clothes are getting too small. It was a good learning experience about making shirts, turns out its a lot of work.

( I even left the Gap tag on )

Las Vegas Baby

Emerson and I were off to have an adventure this week. He took his first Bay Area Rapid transit "BART Train" ride. Which took us to the San Francisco Airport with the destination to visit a friend. Jan was spending the week in Vegas with her husband who was there on business. I got to tag along as a companion for Jan while he was working. Great deal huh?? It was awesome to see her again.

We even saw Captain Jack Sparrow at the Treasure Island Hotel. He showed us where to find the treasure.

We saw the water show at the Bellagio. That was beutiful!!

We went swimming and. . .

Tired the boys out

Emerson tried his first bite of sorbet. He liked it.

I think this picture gives the effect of being in Vegas. There are lights and things everywhere. IT was a little overstimulating for all of us. We went to Fremont St. to see a light show. Turns out the show was not fireworks, but a dome of lights that showed pictures and colors with music.

Animals

It was Sharee's Birthday and we celebrated by visiting the Zoo. Emerson had a great time looking at the animals and pretending he was a kangaroo. I also took him to an animal farm on Memorial day. He loved petting the cow. He pet the cow so hard he ripped hair out of the cow.
