I couldn't ask for a better baby. Emerson was so good the whole flight to Utah. He slept and ate and smiled. The trip got even better while standing in line to switch my seat to accommodate Emerson. The worker asked for one volunteer to give up their seat because they were over booked. I was right there to give up my seat and receive a flight coupon for it. 20 minutes later the worker informed me someone didn't show and there was a seat available on the flight if I still wanted to go on my regular flight. So I got to fly on my original flight and received a $150 coupon to boot. Merry Christmas to me!!

2 months
It's crazy how one minute I couldn't wait to have Emerson and now he is 2 month old. We went to the Doctor's for his check up. No wonder he is pooping out the back side of his diapers. He is just too big for the up to 15 lb diapers now. At 2 months he is 24 inches and 15 lbs. He is really getting heavy. But so much fun!! Last night he even slept through his 3 am feeding. Yea!! After the holidays Emerson and I are taking his first flight. We'll be visiting Utah and we can't wait to see family and friends!!
On other activities, our house is still in progress, but coming along. The garage pad is built and we put in the outdoor drainage system this week. James has really been busy with work and the house. What a great guy.

Economy
Ross Perot is still using his political flow charts. If you are wondering what is going on with our national debt check out www.perotcharts.com. It is a very interesting overview of our national debt. (It is nice that gas prices have come down, but it's too bad I'm not working anymore.)

Family Fun Weekend
I've been looking forward to this weekend for a while. My Mom and Dad were coming to visit. The weekend started by getting in the car and taking a trip to the airport to pick up Grandma and Grandpa Swiss, along the way we visited the office I used to work at. (Yes that is a Christmas Tree in the back ground. The office really enjoys seasonal decorations and Christmas is celebrated as soon a possible for as long as possible)
After picking up my parents we dropped by my parents hotel for some R&R for Emerson, it had been a long day.
Saturday we meet the Heaton and Winter family at the Oakland temple for the sealing of Sharee and Jason Winter. It was a special event. Jamie Heaton watched Emerson while James and I enjoyed the sealing. Our fist baby sitting event. Emerson slept the whole time. After the wedding Dad and James went to the lot to do some mans work. We are actually putting walls up now.
Mom and I went on a little hike with Emerson. I found this fabulous path at Tilden Park right near my house. I couldn't take a view of the bay because the sun was setting, but the other side of the valley was visible, the sights are breath taking and calming.
The next day was Emerson's Baby Blessing. It was a special event. Emerson did so well and didn't even cry.

Stroller Recommendation?
Now that I'm not pregnant I am so excited to get back into shape and exercise. So the question stands what travel system is best for light running/jogging? I have looked at the reviews and am torn between purchasing an Iron Man bob or going for something a little less expensive and buying -/Kolcraft-Jeep-Overland-Limited-Stroller. Do you have any recommendations on strollers I should know about???

Some house plans
The plans are a little big to scan, but I took some pictures so you could see what we are making out of the mounds of cement we just poured. This is a side view as well as a front door view.
We are going to make some aesthetic adjustments to the plans, I don't think our house will have the mission look like it is drawn up to have, but when we bought the lot, the plans were a part of the deal. The plans had already been approved by the city. Having plans already drawn up and approved saved us a lot of time and hassle, but we still had to pay for them.
Down stairs there are 2 bedrooms that share one bathroom, washroom for washer and dryer, Master bedroom, closet and bathroom. We added some space behind the washroom that James calls the bat cave. Maybe it will be a storage, or theater room.

The Pour is finished
We finished pouring the cement today. We had to pour in 2 stages. The first stag was done last weekend just before the 1st rain of the season. Our luck would have it that it rained all weekend. Monday and Tuesday we had to syphon water off the property to prep for today, but now it is all done and this step is over, Yeaaaaa :)

Next Step
Plumming is places, pears are poured, rebar is in and today we passed our inspection. Passing is a good thing, but as James explained to me it means we can hurry and pour the cemet before the rains come. Otherwise we'd wait until next week to pour. We've got our fingers crossed and hands hard at work to get this step done and overwith. So today the upper level forms were poured. James left work early to help and then went back to work in the evening, but progress is being made.

Changing diapers
He is winking at the girls already. Emerson is so sweet and calm, and then it comes time to change his diapers. Any good advice for changing boys diapers, I am all ears. Without fail I will have the dirty diaper off, and a fresh diaper almost on and . . . he is peeing again, or pooping. It's like a fire hydrant out one or the other, but always after dirty one is off. So I go through about 2 to 3 diapers a changing and 5 to 10 outfits a day. I know I'll get the hang of it hopefully sooner than later.

New Arrival
Coming to the world at 9.1 lb, 22.5 in. at 1:45 pm Sunday afternoon.
I went to the hospital on Saturday for a routine check up. The nurse did the exam and said I don't think they are going to let you go home = your going to have a baby. So James and I spent Saturday at the hospital getting my body ready for labor. Around 3 am I got some morphine to help with the pain. I was pretty loopy after that. A patosine drip helped the contractions along and around 1:15 I was dilated to 9.5. A few episodes of pushes and James and I are parents. He is beautiful. I think he looks like James. And yes the name is yet to be announced. . .But he is healthy and we're all doing great!!!

House Up Date
Waiting
I would have to say that patience is not my strong point. I feel like I get to wait for a lot of things in my life. I just need to change my mind frame and perspective and then waiting isn't as bad as it seems. I finished working last Monday. I've just been enjoying hanging out at home, doing this or that, but mainly waiting to meet the little guy inside my belly. I'm a few days post term now and just trying to remember to do all the lovely things I may want to before I don't have such freedom. But I know this month will pass and soon I will get to hold my new baby, can't wait. I'm like a little kid who wants to open or see his brithday presents before it's his birthday. Still waiting. . . ( in the meantime our cat has decided that the new changing table is his place of residence)

Sushi
I am rolling my first California roll. The Dr. I work for is hosting Japanese cooking classes with her mom. It's lots of fun, and the food is tasty. But don't ask me to make this delicious dish for you, because it might take me a year to really get the science of the receipt down and buy the right ingredients from the Asian food store .

Work Baby Shower
As I mentioned earlier, my work threw me a baby shower. I am just soo lucky to work with such awesome people. Check out the Diaper Cake Rosie made. Doesn't that look delicious? They suggested baby names, guessed my stomach circumferences, date, time, weight, and length of the baby, suggested possible outcomes for the baby face "Jamekah" (some results are a little scary looking), played baby pictionary, baby music guessing game and baby trivia. They say in the first year a baby can go through 7,000 diapers (possible exaggeration, but it has James and I scared). We also had to smell dirty diapers and guess what was the mess . . . ewww. We all won at one game or another, but James guessed my waist size almost down to the millimeter. His response to the guess how big your wifes belly is was "Is this a trick question?" . . , he's a smart man.
